Lara M. Rausch

Professional Experience

Lara M. Rausch is a family law attorney in Johnson Law Group’s Englewood office, serving families throughout the Denver metro area, the Denver Tech Center, and the south metro communities she calls home. Licensed since 2012, Lara has spent her career in Colorado courtrooms and has focused her practice on domestic relations, handling divorce (dissolution of marriage), child custody (allocation of parental responsibilities), child support, spousal maintenance, post-decree matters, protection orders, and premarital and marital agreements.

Most recently as a Senior Associate Attorney Lara has represented clients at every stage of litigation, including temporary and permanent orders hearings, protection order hearings, contempt proceedings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials. Her cases have involved some of the most challenging issues in family law: high asset property division, child relocation, parental alienation, domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health concerns, and child abduction prevention.

She is experienced in working with the full range of experts a complex case can require, including custody evaluators, child and family investigators, business and real estate appraisers, vocational evaluators, and financial and retirement experts, and she is skilled at analyzing the financial records and expert reports that drive property division, maintenance, and support outcomes.

Lara is also a published authority on grandparents’ rights: she authored the revised Grandparents’ Rights chapter of the Colorado Bar Association’s Senior Law Handbook (2026-2027 edition). She was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2023, 2024, and 2025, a distinction awarded to no more than 2.5 percent of eligible attorneys in Colorado.

Education

Lara earned her Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of Delaware.

Personal Background

Lara lives in Greenwood Village, minutes from our Englewood office, and has built her legal career serving Denver metro families. She is a dedicated pro bono volunteer who has spent years helping Coloradans access legal help through the Denver Legal Night clinic at Centro San Juan Diego. Lara believes every family deserves an advocate who is thoroughly prepared, honest about the road ahead, and relentless in protecting what matters most.
