Enforcing a Parenting Plan During the Pandemic

If something outside your control disrupts your parenting plan, like a school closure, a health emergency, or a travel restriction, your underlying parenting plan generally still governs unless a court modifies it.

Colorado courts expect you and the other parent to work together on reasonable, temporary adjustments where possible, but if the other parent is using a disruption as a reason to withhold your parenting time beyond what the situation actually requires, that can still be treated as a parenting plan violation. The same enforcement tools that apply to any other violation, from mediation to a motion with the court, are generally still available to you.
