Englewood Child Support Lawyers

Child Support Attorney in Englewood

Get the Numbers Right the First Time

Child support is a formula, but the inputs to that formula are where cases are won or lost. Johnson Law Group helps Englewood parents document income, overnights, and child-related costs so the number the court enters is the right one. Think of us as the North Star for your case, a fixed point of honest counsel while the finances are in motion.

Our Englewood office sits in the Inverness Business Park, just east of Interstate 25 near the Dry Creek Road exit. Support cases are document-heavy, so most of the work happens by secure upload and video, with an in-person review when the worksheet needs a second set of eyes. Both options are available from the first call.

Family Law We Handle in Englewood

Colorado calculates child support with an income shares model that combines both parents’ incomes, then adjusts for overnights, health insurance, and childcare. The guideline amount applies as a rebuttable presumption, so deviations require findings. For the full walkthrough, including the calculator, start with how child support works in Colorado.

These related matters often travel with a support case, and each has its own Englewood page:

  • Child custody: Parenting time and decision-making, what Colorado calls parental responsibilities.
  • Contested divorce: When spouses disagree on the terms and the case needs temporary orders, discovery, or a hearing.
  • Divorce: Dissolution of marriage in Colorado, from the first filing through the final decree.
  • Divorce mediation: Resolving the terms of your divorce with a neutral mediator instead of a contested hearing.
  • Domestic partnership: Dissolving a civil union or domestic partnership and sorting out property and parenting.
  • High-conflict child custody: Parenting disputes involving serious allegations, court-appointed evaluators, or a parent who will not cooperate.
  • High net worth divorce: Business interests, executive compensation, and estates where valuation drives the outcome.
  • Modification: Changing parenting time, child support, or maintenance after the decree when circumstances change.
  • Orders of protection: Civil protection orders for safety, and how they interact with a pending divorce.
  • Prenuptial and postnuptial agreements: Drafting, reviewing, and enforcing marital agreements under Colorado law.
  • Property division: Dividing marital property and debt, including homes, businesses, and retirement accounts.
  • Spousal maintenance: Colorado’s approach to alimony, from eligibility through amount, duration, and modification.
  • Uncontested divorce: When you and your spouse agree on every issue and want the paperwork done right the first time.

Arapahoe County and the south Denver metro

Eighteenth Judicial District, Arapahoe County Justice Center, 7325 S. Potomac Street, Centennial, CO 80112.

The Self-Help Center is in Courthouse II, Room 131.

Englewood child support cases are heard by the Arapahoe County District Court at the Justice Center in Centennial. That is true whether support is set inside a divorce, a parenting case, or a standalone filing. From our Inverness office, the Justice Center is about five miles northeast, roughly 10 to 15 minutes by car.

Support is set using Colorado’s standardized guideline worksheet, which the court applies as a rebuttable presumption. That makes the income documentation you bring to the first conference the most important part of the case. Attorneys file Arapahoe domestic relations cases electronically, so most paperwork never requires a trip to Potomac Street.

Under Colorado’s domestic relations rule, an initial status conference is held no later than 42 days after the petition is filed. Attorneys on both sides can file a stipulated case management plan instead.

The Attorneys Who Serve Englewood

When you hire Johnson Law Group, you are hiring a team, not a name on a letterhead. Attorney assignments are made by fit: the nature of your case, your priorities, and the level of support you need.

Why Englewood Families Trust Johnson Law Group

The first call is not a sales call. We listen to what is happening in your family and what you want to protect. You will leave with a clear read on where you stand, even when it is not what you hoped to hear.

We build your case the way you would want it built. Organized records, early preparation, and a strategy you can actually follow. That work starts on day one, so nothing at the Justice Center catches you flat-footed.

A client portal that keeps you in the loop. Real-time alerts, case milestones, and billing visibility, included at no additional cost. You will always know where your case stands.

We are staffed for support cases that do not fit a template. Self-employment income, bonuses and equity compensation, and parents living in different states land here regularly. The firm’s footprint across Colorado, Illinois, and Wyoming means complexity does not require a second law firm.

No outcome guarantees, only preparation. No lawyer can promise a particular result, and you should be cautious of anyone who does. What we commit to is the preparation, strategy, and communication that give your case its strongest footing.

What to Expect When You Call

Our consultation process is straightforward and built around three things you need before any decisions get made:

  • We listen first. Tell us what is happening. The short version is fine, and we will ask the questions that matter.
  • We explain what Colorado law says. In plain English, with no lecture and no scare tactics.
  • We map your next step. You will leave knowing what comes next: filing, responding, gathering records, or taking time to think it through.
