Englewood Uncontested Divorce Lawyers

Uncontested Divorce Attorney in Englewood

Agreement Is the Hard Part. The Paperwork Should Not Be.

When you and your spouse agree on the terms, the goal is a decree that holds up, entered without a contested hearing and without surprises later. Johnson Law Group helps Englewood couples turn an agreement into a separation agreement and parenting plan the court will accept. Think of us as the North Star for your case, a fixed point of honest counsel while you finish what you started together.

Our Englewood office sits in the Inverness Business Park, just east of Interstate 25 and south of the Denver Tech Center. Most uncontested cases run entirely by video and secure document exchange, with an in-person signing at Suite 250 if you prefer one. Both options are available from the first call.

Family Law We Handle in Englewood

Uncontested does not mean informal. The same 91-day residency and waiting periods apply, and financial disclosures are still exchanged. The court still reviews the separation agreement for unconscionability and any parenting terms for the child’s best interests.

Where the statutory conditions are met, the decree can be entered on affidavit without anyone appearing in court. For the full walkthrough, start with how an uncontested divorce works in Colorado.

These related matters are usually resolved inside the agreement, and each has its own Englewood page:

  • Child custody: Parenting time and decision-making, what Colorado calls parental responsibilities.
  • Child support: Setting, modifying, and enforcing support under Colorado’s guideline formula.
  • Contested divorce: When spouses disagree on the terms and the case needs temporary orders, discovery, or a hearing.
  • Divorce: Dissolution of marriage in Colorado, from the first filing through the final decree.
  • Divorce mediation: Resolving the terms of your divorce with a neutral mediator instead of a contested hearing.
  • Domestic partnership: Dissolving a civil union or domestic partnership and sorting out property and parenting.
  • High-conflict child custody: Parenting disputes involving serious allegations, court-appointed evaluators, or a parent who will not cooperate.
  • High net worth divorce: Business interests, executive compensation, and estates where valuation drives the outcome.
  • Modification: Changing parenting time, child support, or maintenance after the decree when circumstances change.
  • Orders of protection: Civil protection orders for safety, and how they interact with a pending divorce.
  • Prenuptial and postnuptial agreements: Drafting, reviewing, and enforcing marital agreements under Colorado law.
  • Property division: Dividing marital property and debt, including homes, businesses, and retirement accounts.
  • Spousal maintenance: Colorado’s approach to alimony, from eligibility through amount, duration, and modification.

Arapahoe County and the south Denver metro

Eighteenth Judicial District, Arapahoe County Justice Center, 7325 S. Potomac Street, Centennial, CO 80112.

The Self-Help Center is in Courthouse II, Room 131.

Englewood uncontested divorces are filed with the Arapahoe County District Court at the Justice Center in Centennial, usually as a joint petition signed by both spouses. Since Colorado reorganized its judicial districts in 2025, the Eighteenth Judicial District covers Arapahoe County alone. From our Inverness office, the Justice Center is about five miles northeast, roughly 10 to 15 minutes by car.

Colorado allows final orders on affidavit when there are no minor children, or when both spouses have counsel and a separation agreement that covers parenting and support. The court can still require a hearing on its own motion, and the affidavit does not shorten the 91-day waiting period. Attorneys file Arapahoe domestic relations cases electronically, so most paperwork never requires a trip to Potomac Street.

Spouses who file the affidavit for decree with all required documents before the initial status conference are excused from attending it. Everyone else attends the conference no later than 42 days after the petition is filed, or files a stipulated case management plan instead.

The Attorneys Who Serve Englewood

When you hire Johnson Law Group, you are hiring a team, not a name on a letterhead. Attorney assignments are made by fit: the nature of your case, your priorities, and the level of support you need.

Why Englewood Families Trust Johnson Law Group

The first call is not a sales call. We listen to what is happening in your family and what you want to protect. You will leave with a clear read on where you stand, even when it is not what you hoped to hear.

We build your case the way you would want it built. Organized records, early preparation, and a strategy you can actually follow. That work starts on day one, so nothing at the Justice Center catches you flat-footed.

A client portal that keeps you in the loop. Real-time alerts, case milestones, and billing visibility, included at no additional cost. You will always know where your case stands.

We are staffed for agreed cases that still need a careful hand. Retirement divisions that need a separate order, a house one spouse is keeping, and parenting plans for children in two states land here regularly. The firm’s footprint across Colorado, Illinois, and Wyoming means complexity does not require a second law firm.

No outcome guarantees, only preparation. No lawyer can promise a particular result, and you should be cautious of anyone who does. What we commit to is the preparation, strategy, and communication that give your case its strongest footing.

What to Expect When You Call

Our consultation process is straightforward and built around three things you need before any decisions get made:

  • We listen first. Tell us what is happening. The short version is fine, and we will ask the questions that matter.
  • We explain what Colorado law says. In plain English, with no lecture and no scare tactics.
  • We map your next step. You will leave knowing what comes next: filing, responding, gathering records, or taking time to think it through.
